Gorgeous soft velvet, but unfortunately I found the shape to be rather odd, and instead of being a loose shirt to go over the matching slim leg velvet trousers, my usual size 3 was tight across the chest, causing gaping at the front. The placket just didn't sit correctly. When I measured it the chest it was actually 42 inches and not 45 as described. This was a disappointment as I hoping to have found my special Christmas outfit, and instead had to return it.

Velvet can slip during construction, meaning that occasionally the sizing can vary. We have conducted further spot checks on this particular style, and have found a couple of sizes are coming up a little smaller than expected.
