Soninké jewellery is designed in Paris and made by hand in Bali using ancestral techniques by Indonesian Artisans on the isle of Sumba. This technique of hand-woven metal wire was prominent during the 19th century in the creation of jewels and adornments for royalty by local artisans using threads of pure gold. Today these contemporary pieces are modern heirlooms which continue to evolve over time like living artworks.
