What To Do And Wear In Morocco

Morocco continues to inspire us beyond our Spring Summer 2019 collections. So, for our holiday shop edit, we’ve compiled a few of our favourite places to visit (along with outfit inspiration) should you find yourself following in our footsteps…
A magical oasis of colour and calm, Jardin Majorelle is a one of the most beautiful gardens in Morocco. Created by the French artist Jacques Majorelle in the 1920s, it was later restored by Yves Saint-Laurent and Pierre Bergé when they discovered it during their first stay in Marrakech.
No trip to Morocco is complete without getting lost in their famous souks, especially Souk Semmarine – a sprawling maze of sensory and visual delights. Follow your nose as rich aromas of ginger, chilli and cardamom fill the air. Discover ornate antiques and beautiful jewellery, amongst a myriad of other treasures.
Drive along the long empty roads of coastal Morocco and you’ll reach Legzira Beach, a beautiful stretch of sand that is also home to a naturally formed rock arch – marvel at this stunning natural wonder while you dip your toes into the sea and enjoy this secluded haven.

Nestled in a beautiful shaded courtyard in Marrakech is the Amal Centre – a non-profit organisation founded by Nora Belahcen Fitzgerald to empower disadvantaged local women to find work. From delicious tagines to traditional gazpachos, the Amal Centre restaurant boasts an ever-changing menu of home-cooked food. Alternatively, you can join one of the centre’s cooking or baking classes and learn how to create your very own Moroccan dishes.

Take in the breathtaking landscape of Erg Chebbi, one of only two ergs also known as ‘sand seas’ near Merzouga in Morocco, with dunes reaching as high as 150 metres. Feel the hot sand beneath your feet and traverse across the Sahara by camel for a true desert experience.
