For this season’s campaign we thought about the conditions that creativity needs to grow. We meditated on how much space and quiet one needs in order to cultivate inspiration - how much the aesthetics of environment can spark new ideas.
Our curiosity brought us to the English countryside to the home of Monica and Simon Siegel in Nottinghamshire. Designed by architect David Shelley in 1970,
this mid-century modern home is one of great intention - every detail has been thought through, from the original terrazzo floors and stone walls to the meticulously chosen vintage furniture. The end result is an architectural gem which feels both like a cozy family home as well as the perfect blank canvas for a well-lived life.
There is a sunken conversation pit in the living room which invites long evenings of connecting with friends and family as well as an interior courtyard which basks the house’s main living space with tons of natural light. The house evoked a commitment to creation that we knew it would be the perfect space to shoot our Autumn '22 catalogue.
Inspired by the blending of colours and textures on the painter’s palette, this season’s collection was designed to liberate the artistic spirit inside all of us. Whether you enjoy painting, singing, cooking, gardening or simply organising a thoughtful dinner with friends - the art of creation is key to a fulfilling life.
At Sahara we aim to create clothes which inspire you to express your own unique creative spirit everyday. This season we’ve played with bold colour - combining deep earthy tones punctuated by vibrant streaks of lava orange and lipstick pink. Hand-drawn abstract prints such as our Painter’s Palette and Harlequin evoke brushstrokes and paintboxes to create a playful yet sophisticated statement.
Sumptuous fabrics such as Italian Cashmere Merino and Feather Cord are soft and breathable for easy layering while heavyweight Fluid Crepe and French Jacquard provide cozy respite from chilly mornings.
