Luukaa has a distinctive style. Can you share the story behind the brand's inception and the inspiration that led to its unique aesthetic? 

Luukaa is a slow fashion brand that designs and produces its entire ready-to-wear collection in-house, responsibly, and locally. 

Our creative team does all the brainstorming, pattern creation, cutting, sample making and production in our own studios in both Istanbul and Izmir. This gives us the inspiration we need, and the skill set and tools to do the job with high quality and timeliness.

 

How does the brand strike a balance between comfort and style, and why is this balance essential for your designs? 

Balancing comfort and style is crucial for our brand because we understand that today's woman values both looking good and feeling good. Our designs prioritize this because we recognize the significance of time spent changing clothes in a woman's busy day. By seamlessly blending comfort and style, we aim to empower women of all shapes and sizes to effortlessly transition from one activity to another without sacrificing their sense of fashion or comfort, day or night.

Our designs offer versatility, allowing them to be paired with everyday staples like jeans or a simple t-shirt. This versatility adds a touch of uniqueness to each outfit, enabling women to feel exclusive and stand out, while still feeling comfortable. Whether it's a busy day at work, a casual outing with friends, or a special event, our carefully crafted pieces ensure that women can maintain their personal style without compromising on comfort.

We employ advanced pattern simulations to visualize how designs will fit on the figure and to check print placement. This minimizes the need for physical samples, reducing fabric waste and the environmental impact of production. Ultimately, our goal is to transition towards a model where customers can place orders directly without the need for physical samples. We’re constantly investing in technology and cutting-edge systems to improve our capabilities in this area.
